Media Release17-Oct-2001The manager of the visiting Kenyan cricket team, Mehmood Quraishy, has beenadmitted to the Greenacres hospital in Port Elizabeth and is expected toundergo heart bypass surgery within the next couple of days.Mr Quraishy suffered chest pains while at St George’s Park this morning andwas admitted to hospital after being assisted at the stadium by the managerof the Indian team, Dr MK Bhargava, who is a medical doctor. An angiogramwas conducted this afternoon.Rob Kurz, the Vice President of the UCBSA, said: “We in the UCB will doeverything we can to assist Mr Quraishy and to try and make him comfortable.We’ll also help the Kenyan team and, in the absence of their manager, DougRussell will travel with the team to assist with logistics. We wish MrQuraishy a speedy recovery.”
