Speaking to the media, Guardiola said: "I want to tell you something, so since he arrived (in January), the (last) three or four months with the lads, at the end of the training session, he was practicing the free-kicks alone, with the 'keeper, with the wall'.
"The others, they didn't practice, he was practising and practising, and work pays off.
"So at the end, he had the courage, the quality. When you practise, you know, it's like golf or like basketball, as much you practice free shots, the more chances you have."
WHAT NEXT FOR ECHEVERRI?
The Argentine wonderkid was given his first start for Manchester City in the clash against Al-Ain after having been an unused substitute against Wydad. His side will be up against Juventus next up in the final group stage game of the Club World Cup, and he may be relegated to the bench yet again.
