CPFC: Fans react to eight academy contracts

Crystal Palace confirmed on Friday evening that eight of their academy talents have been awarded professional contracts, with a number of Eagles supporters duly reacting to the news on social media.

Owen Goodman, Dan Quick, Cardo Siddik, Aidan Steele, Dylan Thiselton, Noah Watson, Jack Wells-Morrison and Joe Whitworth are the eight who have put pen to paper on Selhurst Park deals.

They follow in the footsteps of David Omilabu and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who also signed professional contracts with Palace last season.

All of the eight players who were handed new deals helped the club finish as runners-up in the Under-18s league during their first season as a Category 1 academy.

The Eagles also shared on their website that 15 players unfortunately haven’t been offered full-time terms and would be leaving the club.

Palace fans react

Palace posted the news about the eight youngsters on their official Twitter page on Friday. Here is what these Eagles fans had to say in reply, with one describing it as ‘excellent news’ for the club.
