Leeds United extended their unbeaten run of form to a fourth league game as they picked up yet another 1-0 victory,
Marcelo Bielsa’s side defeated Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium to move five points clear of the playoffs in second place.
The Whites still have plenty of work to do if they are to catch runaway leaders West Bromwich Albion, who are four points further ahead right now.
And following their latest display, plenty of the Leeds faithful were left drooling over the performance of centre-back Gaetano Berardi with many pleading for him to be offered a new contract.

The glowing endorsements of the 31-year-old were never-ending, fans were saying things from “criminally underrated” to “outstanding” while one supporter claimed he was an absolute “rock” in defence.
Per SofaScore, Berardi recorded five interceptions, two clearances and two tackles, so the reaction has been quite justified.

It has led to fans wishing for him to remain at the club past the current season with a further member of the Leeds fanbase brandishing him a “cult hero”.
One even said it would be criminal if he didn’t receive a new contract.
Some fans were so desperate to see a new deal that they tweeted the owner, Andrea Radrizzani, asking him to give the Swiss-born veteran fresh terms.
There was even a tongue in cheek comparison made to legendary centre-back Paolo Maldini.
Time is running out with less than four months remaining on his contract – currently, he can speak with clubs abroad, so Leeds may well need to act quickly if they do indeed with the fans’ above to secure him long-term.
